SWSC Seeking Volunteers for Board Positions
by posted 01/07/2012

Good morning,
As you know the South Windsor Soccer Club is made possible because of many volunteers.  The Board of Directors, Coaches and so many others offer their time and skills so our children have the opportunity to play soccer.  The volunteers are predominantly parents of children that are participating on a soccer team, however it may surprise you that many of the volunteers do not have children in the program!

The SWSC is presently looking to fill one of the In-House Director positions on the Board of Directors (BOD).  The duties of the In-House Director are noted below as copied from the SWSC By-Laws.  The In-House program is a very popular segment of the club and were looking to increase the resources available to the teams/players.

We are also seeking several Division Directors for one of the 8 In-House divisions.  These Division Directors are responsible for forming teams with the players that have registered, identify coaches for each team and to provide support and guidance to the coaches/teams throughout the season.  The Division Directors would meet with and be supported by their respective In-House Director.  The Division Director position will be reimbursed by the club for one In-House player registration per season as compensation.

In addition, we continue to seek Coaches for In-House Recreation teams.  These teams practice once per week with games on Saturday mornings.  Coaches would have a tremendous amount of support from the SWSC Director of Coaching, the professional coaches from UK International and even from other coaches.  As the SWSC expands its relationship with the SW High School teams we will be recruting High School players as assistant coaches!

Please note that you DO NOT need to have soccer experience to be considered for these positions! All you need is the desire to contribute your time and abilities to a very worthwhile organization!  If you have any questions on these positions you may contact any of the Directors by clicking on the menu button to the left, our contact information is there...

As always the public is welcome to any of the BOD meetings held the first Thursday of every month!  We hope to hear from you!!

Best regards,
Hugo DelRosso
Publicity Director
