The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a life long love of the game.  Practice is held once a week.  One game per week is played usually on Saturdays. Seasons run for about 8 weeks in both the spring and fall.

Travel Soccer Program
The SWSC Travel Program’s goal is to provide the boys and girls of the Town of South Windsor a challenging and fun soccer experience. It is geared towards 8-15 year olds who enjoy playing soccer, want to be exposed to the benefits of a team sport and demonstrate the potential, discipline, interest and desire to increasingly improve their soccer skills. It is our goal to develop the skills of all players to their fullest potential while having fun. There are fall and spring travel soccer seasons with the coaches option of taking part in an indoor session(s) during the winter. Most fall and spring seasons consist of two training sessions during the week and 1 or 2 games on the weekends.

TOPS Soccer
TOPS Soccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based program for young athletes with disabilities. The program is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl, age four to nineteen, who has a mental or physical disability. The South Windsor TOPSoccer Program started in the Spring of 2000 and has been very successful with many returning players. Each participant is assisted with activities that help with balance, coordination and strength and to raise their levels of self-esteem. They don't know this however, to them it's just fun! Volunteer mentors play an important role in the TOPS program. Mentors, age twelve to adult, are paired with the athletes to help demonstrate drills and foster interactions between players. The program runs at the same time as the in-house program (six-eight weeks) in the spring and fall on Saturdays from 1-2 p.m. at Nevers Road Park. In the spring we join other area towns for the TOPSoccer Festival which includes activities, awards, food and fun. In the fall we take team pictures to remember the smiles. Uniforms are provided for all registered players. The registration fee is $25.
