Youth Academy U7/U8 FAQ's
How do I receive my players' uniform? Coaches will hand out uniforms during the first week of practice.
Coaching looks really fun. How do I get involved? Log into your SWSC account. On your account page, look on the left hand side for the button to register as a Volunteer.
What do I need to provide for my player? New players will receive a jersey, shorts, and socks from their coach. You will need to provide cleats, shin guards, water and a ball
Can I buy SWSC gear (sweatshirts/hats/etc)? Of course! Visit Moore Sports to order your Spirit gear
Is my registration for one Season or one year? One season, you will have to register every season.
Will I get a new uniform in the Spring if I played in the Fall? No. Only new to the team players receive new uniforms in the Spring.
Where are games held? Rye Street Park 440 Rye Street South Windsor CT 06074
What time are games? Saturdays 9am - 2PM
How many practices should I expect per week? Academy has one practice per week.

What should my child wear to practice? Athletic shorts or pants, shin guards (inside soccer socks) weather appropriate shirt. Please be sure your child is not wearing jeans, dress pants, or khakis.
How long are the practices? 1 hour and 15 minutes
What Size ball does U7&U8 use? Size 3
How many per side at U7/U8? 5 players per side including goalie
Are there additional training opportunities for my child? Yes, Friday night Clinics
What are Silent Sidelines and when are they held? Coaches will be permitted to give players direction from the sidelines. Spectators will be directed to refrain from making any comments to players, coaches or referees, but will be permitted to applaud efforts by players. We are requesting that all spectators remain silent on these weekends. We would like to provide each player at least one game of their season that is free of the distractions caused by spectators screaming and yelling at them. The Spring Silent Sidelines weekend will be the third weekend of May and the Fall Silent Sidelines will be the third weekend of October
